Permits in Santa Monica
Santa Monica runs its own permits through the City of Santa Monica Building and Safety Division, not LADBS. Moving plumbing, gas or walls needs plans; condo work may also need approval from the building's association first.
Near the ocean
Salt air is hard on some metal finishes. Close to the beach we lean toward stainless or coated hardware and fixtures, and we seal stone counters and wood floors before you move back in.
